Dr. Garry Welch, Director, Behavioral Medicine Research, received the Mobilizing for Health grant for his project, "Developing and field testing an integrated mHealth solution to improve daily adherence to medications and blood glucose and blood pressure monitoring among older Type 2 diabetes patients."
mHealth is a term used for the practice of medical and public health that is supported by mobile devices.
Dr. Welch joins researchers from 5 other institutions across the country—including Partners Health Care, Einstein, and Vanderbilt—in investigating how mobile phones can be used to improve the lives of underserved populations suffering from chronic diseases.
