Our volumes are surprising – nearly 50,000 surgical specimens, 90,000 cytology specimens, and 5-6 million clinical tests are performed annually. Baystate Reference Laboratories (BRL), a service of BMC, is fully accredited to the highest regulatory standards and participates in the accreditation and evaluation of clinical pathology laboratories world-wide. The Department of Pathology provides exceptional patient care with concurrent interdisciplinary professional consultation. This strong interaction of technical and client service personnel delivers optimal patient care and client service.
