Career description

Coding Associates are able to access health information, identify diagnoses and assign appropriate codes narrative descriptions of health diseases and procedures required for reimbursement, medical records, quality assurance or risk management. Education

Students may complete a certificate program and within 3 months of completion of the program, will be eligible to sit for the Certified Coding Associate exam offered through the American Health Information Management Association.

Pre-requisites

Clinical experiences are arranged through the academic advisor from programs that are affiliated with BMC.
