Career Description
A Clinical Laboratory Assistant is trained in all aspects of the medical laboratory, including phlebotomy, specimen processing, quality control, clerical and receptionist skills. Their responsibilities may also involve glassware cleaning, autoclave operation, as well as assisting other laboratory personnel, nurses and physicians.
Education
Accredited programs (approximately 9 months) can lead to certificate of completion.
Pre-requisites
Clinical experiences are arranged through the academic advisor from programs affiliated with Baystate Medical Center.
