Application Process
- Applicants must complete the Standardized Application for Pathology Fellowships
- The Cytopathology Fellowship Program applicant is required to submit the following when applying:
—Completed application
—Current CV
—Personal statement
—3 letters of recommendation
—USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3 scores
Application Deadline
Applications should be submitted in full by April 1 of the year prior to the start of the fellowship to:

Applicant Requirements
Prior to matriculation to fellowship training at Baystate Medical Center, all incoming fellows must have:
- Completion of a 3 year ACGME-accredited program in Internal Medicine, Med Peds or Family Medicine
- Passed the USMLE Step 3 or COMLEX—USA Level 3 examination
- All fellowship candidates must fulfill Baystate's Resident/Fellow Appointment Requirements.
INSTITUTIONAL POLICY ON VISA STATUS
J1 Visas
Baystate Medical Center sponsors J1 Visas through ECFMG for applicants who are eligible for appointment to a residency or fellowship position.
H1B Visas
The availability of the institution to support H1B Visas is very limited and not generally available; however, upon request from a Program Director and under exceptional circumstances, the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Baystate Medical Center will review H1B applications on a case by case basis.
Interviews
Once completed applications are reviewed, qualified applicants will be invited to interview.
Hotel Accommodations
Baystate Medical Center will pay for 1 night of hotel accommodation (the night prior to your interview), at the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield, Massachusetts. A shuttle is available at the hotel to transport you to the hospital, a short distance away.
