We offer an ACGME-accredited, 2-year Nephrology Fellowship Program with 2 positions per year.
Our program emphasizes 18 months of exceptional clinical training and includes 6 months of clinical research in the second year. Fellows receive comprehensive training in all facets of inpatient nephrology while on the 3 major rotations: Inpatient Consultation, Chronic Dialysis/ESRD and Transplantation.

Program Highlights

A state-of-the-art, 8 station inpatient acute hemodialysis unit located on the same floor as inpatient renal & transplant, allowing geographic ease

Approximately 250 native kidney biopsies & over 150 transplant renal biopsies are performed each year under ultrasound guidance

Placement of temporary vascular access lines in the internal jugular vein and/or femoral vein will be learned both with & without ultrasound guidance

Develop skills necessary to manage complications associated with access failure, acute infections, malnutrition, anemia, metabolic bone disease & cardiovascular complications associated with ESRD

Learn to evaluate & manage acute rejection, using novel techniques such as plasmapheresis and state-of-the-art chemotherapeutic protocols

Currently more than 30 on-going clinical trials and research skills will be learned in both fellowship years
