3 Year curriculum for Fellows seeking certification from the American Board of Pediatrics
Year 1
Six months are spent within the pediatric emergency department. The first month includes didactic sessions of core emergent pediatric emergency medicine topics. A procedure lab is given during the subspecialty residents first year.
One month is also spent in each of the following rotations:
Two months are devoted to research.
Year 2
Six months are spent within the pediatric emergency department.
One month is spent in each of the following:
Two months are devoted to research.
An elective month is offered with toxicology being encouraged for subspecialty residents without prior toxicology education.
Year 3
Six months are spent within the pediatric emergency department.
One month is spent in each of the following:
Two months are devoted to research.
Two months of elective time are also given. Elective rotations are chosen by the subspecialty residents in conjunction with the fellowship director with emphasis on the subspecialty residents specific educational needs.
