Urogynecology & Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery

Goals

This elective provides clinical exposure to urogynecological and pelvic issues and their treatment.

Objectives

The student will…

  • review pelvic anatomy
  • perform gynecologic examinations
  • review concepts in surgery and practice surgical skills
  • participate in the evaluation and management of women suffering from pelvic support defects and/or urinary incontinence in both the ambulatory and inpatient settings
  • prepare a brief library research paper and oral presentation on a topic pertinent to pelvic anatomy, gynecologic surgery or urogynecology
