Hey everyone,

I am REDA ALMOMEN, I grew up in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. I completed my medical school at King Faisal University in Dammam; and then I joined Saudi ARAMCO. I am married to a lovely girl who has a Nursing diploma and a Bachelor degree in Arabic History and we just have our little boy " MOSA "

Why Baystate?

  1. Extremely high volume of patients and extremely wide variety of pathology, form Peds to elderly and from common to very rare pathology. Nevertheless, Baystate is level 1 trauma center in which the ED resident are continuously exposed to a huge number of very severe cases that is much more than what an ED physician could see during their entire life elsewhere. With no doubt, ED graduates are unbeatable allover the world in a matter of clinical skills and clinical knowledge.
  2. Easy going program. It is 3 years residency program, 9 hours shifts, 5 days a week. The program starts with a greatly helpful orientation month, during which the interns build  a good relationships with their new colleagues as well as the senior residents.

Many Baystate residents live in Northampton. My family and I love Northampton. It is a small decent town. Almost everything we need is within walking distance (supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants, banks, car dealers, insurance companies, daycares, halal food and more ). In spite of the fact that we came form totally different place and totally different culture , my wife said this is the perfect place to live and this is what she was dreaming of.

Finally, Look for your training, your family and yourself to make the right choice that suits you. I wish you all the best luck with the match.
