Hi everyone,
I am Abdullah Almulhim , 28 years old Saudi physician, married and I have one kid. I was born, raised and got my education in Dammam City from Kin Faisal University, then I moved to Northampton , mass .... You think it is a big move ha .... Well, not really. Dammam is my home in Saudi and Northampton is my home in USA .... And that's because people here are welcoming, and almost everything you need is accessible like gyms, tennis courts, cinemas, parks, shopping malls, and restaurants of different flavors .....
Baystate is a wonderful place to get your training in emergency medicine because:
- the environment .... You will be working in a win win, friendly and supportive environment ...where every team member has the same goal ... The attendings, residents, nurses and staff work in dynamic to deliver the best care to the patients ...
- the patients are high in volume, acuity and in variety...and that will enrich your experience in caring of any patient you might encounter after the residency ...
- the training, it is a 3 year training program, most of your curriculum will be in ED ... In the first transitional month, you will be with your class residents almost every working day and the basic lectures and procedures of emergency medicine will be provided to you by some of the attending physicians .. Not only that you will spend 3 days in a retreat with all emergency residents and your training supervisors ... And in these days you will know your new family members more closely and it is a good way to break the ice .....
Another point I want to mention is you will get tremendous support by everybody, most importantly your training supervisors and the secretaries …
- finally it takes leaders to make leaders and you will see that at Baystate ...
Anyway don't hesitate to contact me in case you have any questions ....
Good luck in the match,
Abdullah Almulhim
