Hiya, and welcome to Baystate! My name is Bo Schlech.  I grew up on the rugged shores of Nova Scotia, Canada and I went to medical school in Dublin, Ireland. I love the Irish but they were always trying to steal me lucky charms. But I got them back by stealing one of their lassies! 

My Irish bride and I couples-matched at Baystate into EM and Pediatrics. We both did elective rotations here in 4th year and loved exploring the countryside of Western Massachusetts on our days off. This is a beautiful part of the country, with opportunities for outdoor activities year round. When we made our rank list, we did it based on where we thought we would be happiest for the next three years, and we knew from the beginning that Baystate would be at the top.  One of the things we love about Baystate is the focus on wellness and work/life balance for the residents. Expect to work hard when you're at work and then play hard when you're off!
