Hi, I’m Sarah Stuppy from Yorktown, VA. I did my undergraduate studies at Penn State and medical school at VCU and lived in Colorado in between.
When considering a residency program, there were two things I primarily looked for. The first was a high-volume ED with diversity in its patient population and spectrum of disease and the second was being in close proximity to the outdoor activities that I enjoy like skiing, biking and trail running. These qualifications narrowed my choices down to a few programs, one of which was Baystate.
Since being here, I have discovered that this program has exceeded my expectations. The pathology is vast with a high level of acuity, the faculty is excited to teach, the residents work as a team, and the program is streamlined to give us the best learning experience while allowing us to maintain a good balance between work and personal life. I have really enjoyed my time here as a resident.
Good luck with interviewing and the Match and enjoy the rest of your 4th year!
