Hi everybody.  My name is Joe Schneider, and I hail from Albany, NY, with a BA in Philosophy from Amherst College (class of '97).  I spent 8 years after college living in San Francisco before returning to Albany Med for medical school.  I waited tables in SF, volunteered with Americorps/Healthcorps in Berkeley, was a case manager providing health and social services in Oakland, and spent the greater part of a year messing around in Europe.  Baystate attracted me because I love the Pioneer Valley, the emergency room is very busy, and the people are super nice.  I get to live in a beautiful and progressive New England town (Northampton), and work at one of the busiest emergency departments in the country.  As far as free time goes- and we do have some-  I enjoy outdoor sports from golf to rock climbing, and indoor sports like cooking, poker, and beers with friends.
