OVERVIEW
The Women's Health Track is an optional program that enhances the knowledge and training of the standard curriculum in Women’s Health for the categorical internal medicine residents. The components of the track include the following:

bi-monthly Women’s Health Journal Club
-
bi-monthly mentorship
-
completion of the women’s comprehensive clinic curriculum
-
completion of the women’s health elective
-
research project with a member of the Women’s Health faculty.
Residents are encouraged to participate fully in all components of the track but may choose to only participate partially. In completing the track, residents will be prepared for application to a Women’s Health Fellowship, an academic career in Women’s Health or a career in Women’s Health primary care.
GOALS

To prepare residents with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to practice Women’s Health as an internist.

To expose residents to a wide variety of Women’s Health diseases counseling, prevention and treatment options.

To facilitate the development of evidence based medical practices that foster a broader understanding of the Women’s Health literature.

To critically review and evaluate original data and identify sources of bias in research data and funding of Women’s Health research.
-
To develop a clinical question and complete a research project in the area of Women’s Health with a mentor from the Women’s Health Track Faculty.

To understand the clinical epidemiology and presentation of Women’s Health disorders.
