Michael is a native of Springfield, MA and graduated from Georgetown University with a BS in International Health. After training and certification, he volunteered as a student EMT for three years in Washington DC. He then went on to volunteer with the US Peace Corps in St. Lucia where he created and initiated a community-based HIV/AIDS treatment, care and support program for HIV/AIDS patients. He left the Peace Corps to lead his own multi-country Eastern Caribbean project (DIRECT) to continue facilitating access to antiretroviral therapy for HIV/AIDS patients. He has also volunteered for other programs including, Doctors Without Borders before attending medical school at Ben-Gurion/Columbia University in Israel. Michael has come to Baystate for his preliminary year and will do a emergency medicine residency in New York. When Michael is not volunteering his time, he enjoys trail-running and is a huge movie buff and amateur film critic. |
