After graduating from medical school, Iheanyi volunteered his time working in underserved regions in Nigeria as a “casualty officer” comparable to working in an emergency room in the US and later working as a medical officer at the Seventh-Day Adventist Hospital in Nigeria. In addition, he was trained by the AIDSRelief (an affiliate of the Institute of Human Virology, Baltimore) where he worked providing medical care and support to people living with HIV/Aids. The increasing challenges in medical care necessitated his desire to pursue a residency in internal medicine. Iheanyi enjoys playing soccer, board games, swimming, and reading non-fiction books. He takes special joy in cooking for family and friends. |
