Sara was born in Ottumwa, Iowa. After graduating from Grinnell College in Iowa with a BA in Biology and Latin American Studies, she built a career in marine science. Though there were some aspects of the work she enjoyed, she missed the social interaction, which she feels is an integral part of Internal Medicine. Through her love of travel she has lived in Ecuador, spent significant time in New Zealand, Costa Rica and Guatemala and traveled throughout the US, living in five states. She feels through Internal Medicine she will be able to work with a diverse patient population with a variety of medical problems. Her compassion toward these patients will be an integral of her success in Primary Care. Through the years, Sara has become proficient in Spanish and earned a red belt in Tae Kwon Do. She also enjoys swimming, running, reading and especially traveling when ever possible.
