Monique was born in Miami, Florida. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami receiving a  BA with a major in Religious Studies and double minor in Chemistry and Biology. She continued on to medical school at Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. She realized in her third year of medical school that Internal Medicine is where she belonged. She enjoys the camaraderie and the sense of problem solving that comes by sharing your thoughts and concerns about patients and their care.  She describes herself as a hardworking, highly motivated, caring and meticulous person. Music is also an important part of Monique’s life. She trained as a classical pianist from the time she was 10 until she graduated from high school. She enjoys visiting art galleries, charcoal sketching, jogging, reading and writing.
