As a young boy, Gurmuk would visit the local primary health center with his grandfather, an avid volunteer. He witnessed first-hand the “angels” in white coats, bringing aid and relief to the suffering. His ambition to become a physician taking root, he was accepted to medical school, and received the National Talent Search scholarship throughout all his years of medical study and clinical clerkships. He was a primary care physician in India. While in the U.S., Gurmuk has been an observer physician on the hospitalist and nephrology service at Marquette General Hospital. Gurmuk enjoys music, biking, writing poetry, and playing ping-pong, cricket and badminton.
