A native of the Bahamas, Richard received an undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Toronto. He has worked as a Cancer Research UK volunteer in Glasgow, promoting charity events and raising funds for research. Also, he has participated in clinical research, involving human cytomegalovirus. After graduating from medical school, he worked as a Foundation House Officer at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Richard feels that the “complexity of problems in internal medicine creates intellectual pursuits that are challenging and enjoyable.” After his residency training, he aspires to pursue a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Richard’s off-hour interests include basketball, weightlifting, studying languages, and traveling.
