Your Medicine-Pediatrics Residency Interview

Your Invitation to Interview

You have been invited to interview after being chosen by our Selection Committee based on your ERAS application, academic performance, passing USMLE/COMLEX I & II scores, letters of recommendation and clinical experience. 

1. Schedule an Interview Appointment

Interviews are on the following dates:

  • November 2011: 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 28
  • December 2011: 2, 5, 9, 12, 16, 19
  • January 2012: 6, 9, 13, 20, 23, 27

No interviews are scheduled on the following dates:

  • Friday, November 25, 2011 (the day after Thanksgiving)
  • December 20, 2011 through January 5, 2012 (holiday break)
  • January 16, 2012 (Martin Luther King Day)

Night Before Your Interview

Baystate Medical Center pays for one night of lodging at the Hilton Garden Inn in Springfield for applicants who interview here. This gives you a valuable opportunity to learn about our program at a relaxed gathering with our residents on the evening before your interview.

Interview Day

The shuttle from the Hilton to Baystate leaves at 7:00 am and returns to the Hilton from Baystate at 3:00 pm.  However, Med-Peds has afternoon interviews so if you have a car please bring it and park on campus.

5. If You Are Offered an Appointment

Resident appointments at Baystate Medical Center begin on July 1. There is a required 2 day orientation at the end of June. If not already certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), residents are also provided the necessary ACLS training free of charge prior to July 1.
