Eimear was born in Galway, Ireland. She received one of eight scholarships to study medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons 5 year program and graduated in May, 2009. In her final medical year Eimear won the Corrigan Prize for Clinical Medicine.
In addition to her academic excellence she was co-founder and vice-president of the RCSI Emergency Medicine Society from 2007-2008. She was continuously involved in RCSI’s oldest and most prestigious Biological Society for three years as Social Secretary and was Secretary of SUAS Educational Development, an organization dedicated to supporting high quality education in communities in developing countries. She was also an Emergency Department House Officer at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane, Australia.
Eimear plays piano and the traditional Irish violin. She also enjoys cooking, reading, yoga and traveling the world.
