Rebeca was born in Mexico but her family came from Guatemala and she was raised in Guatemala City, attending missionary schools. Rebeca did her undergraduate studies at Trevecca Navarene University, graduating summa cum laude. She was the recipient of a soccer scholarship and played varsity soccer throughout college. During her undergraduate and graduate training, Rebeca has been actively involved in volunteer activities within the community and abroad, including Clinic Esperanza, a non-profit, student-led clinic providing medical care to the Spanish-speaking population in the Memphis area. She also has done medical missionary work in the Dominican Republic and in Kenya. Rebeca is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys spending time with her husband Trevor, a family medicine resident, and their dog, Maximus, competitive sports, cooking and Netflix! |
