Kathryn McKenna, MD

Katie completed her undergraduate studies in Biology, Philosophy, and Spanish at the University of Scranton, for which she received a full scholarship and graduated magna cum laude.  Katie was a four year varsity swimmer and Academic All-American.  She received numerous honors for excellence in academics and athletics.  Her volunteer work includes a local AIDS clinic where she used her Spanish skills to translate medical documents, as well as international service in Lesotho, Africa where she worked with Touching Tiny Lives, an organization that provides medical care and education to children with AIDS.  At Georgetown, she helped found the HOYA clinic, a student run clinic for the underserved and was awarded the District of Columbia Hospital Association Community Service award.  She was also actively involved in research in the department of Pediatric Oncology.    Katie was inducted into AOA during medical school.  Besides swimming she loves to read, sing, and travel.
