Hijab was born in Pakistan and grew up in Southern California.  She completed her undergraduate education at University of California, Berkeley where she majored in integrative biology and religious studies.  She has a sincere interest in global health care and has gone on medical missions to South Africa, and provided aid to earthquake victims in Kashmir. She is currently involved in a project exploring a physician’s ability to adequately discuss sensitive topics such as sexuality with Muslim adolescents.   Hijab takes pleasure in the performing arts and watching musicals, plays and other theatrical events.  She enjoys traveling and finding new adventures wherever she can.
