Rashim received dual undergraduate degrees in biology and religious studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.  During her time at VCU, Rashim did research during the summers, working and studying breast cancer and prostate cancer, resulting in a published paper on Endocrinology of Prostate. Rashim graduated from VCU a semester early and traveled abroad in India.  She matriculated at the Medical University of South Carolina where she was selected for the prestigious Presidential Scholars program and continued her service work volunteering time at local homeless shelters and the CARES clinic, a student run clinic for indigent patients.  Rashim’s hobbies and interests are yoga, dancing and choreographing Salsa, Bhangra, and Bollywood. She is contemplating a career as an endocrinologist.
