Cindy did her undergraduate studies at Westminster College in Missouri with a BA in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. While at Westminster Cindy was selected for a research internship at St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. She received national recognition as a scholar-athlete. She continues to hold college basketball records and was the first female player in her college’s history to score 1000 points. After graduation, Cindy worked as a lab technician at a pharmaceutical company and then with the AmeriCorps Emergency Response Team helping individuals in hurricane, flood, tornado stricken areas throughout the U.S. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Nutrition in 2003. Upon matriculating to UNECOM Cindy was honored to receive a four-year scholarship with the National Health Service Corps. During medical school Cindy was Vice President of her Class and was honored as the invited guest speaker at the 2008 UNE Presidential Gala. |
