Heather graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University of Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of art degree in Classical Studies. Since matriculating at Rush, Heather participated in multiple activities including volunteering at the Community Health Center, Fantus homeless shelter, and serving as a Rush Medical College anatomy peer tutor for first year students during their anatomy class. Heather has conducted research in the Department of Anatomy involving ganglioside therapy of neuro-injured rats and presented her work at both the regional and national level. Heather enjoys painting and drawing in her spare time.
