Arrive at Baystate.  Our parking is in the doctors’ lot adjacent to the hospital and it is free.  Read in preparation for 8AM didactic session.

8:00 am

Didactic session.  Our faculty gives excellent lectures or slide conferences every day at this time except for Fridays, when we have unknown conference instead.

9- 9:15 am

Correct gross dictations typed by secretaries if I grossed the day before.

9:15 - 12:00pm

Preview slides alone, or gross if it is my day to do so.

12:00 - 1:00pm

Resident conference (on Monday and Wednesday) comprising resident presentations.  On other days at noon there are excellent interdisciplinary conferences which are held in our department.

1:00 - 5/6:00pm

Sign out with attending or continue grossing if it is my day to do so.

6:00 pm

Continue grossing if there is anything left and it is my day to do so.  Go home, eat, study a bit in front of the TV or run on the treadmill if feeling guilty about not exercising enough!  Anticipate going skiing or riding my bike on the weekend.
