Alicia is a 2004 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross with a major in English. During her summers as an undergraduate she volunteered at two children’s hospitals in New Jersey, as well as volunteering during the school year at a women’s shelter in Worcester. In 2006 she received her Certificate in Public Health from University of Medicine and Dentistry on New Jersey School of Public Health, while also working as an assistant preschool teacher. In her first year at UNE, she was elected co-president of the campus chapter of Physicians for Social responsibility and served on the Maine executive committee. She attended the PSR international meeting in India in 2008. She participated in High School Teach, was a teaching assistant and volunteered in a diabetes education program at a free clinic. Alicia is concurrently completing her MPH alone with her medical degree. She is interested in caring for the underserved as a career. She enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, cooking and travel. |
