Sophia completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Miami majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.  While there, she was a Child Life volunteer at Miami Children’s.  After graduation she worked at the same institution in research projects involving a novel immune stimulator drug.  She also taught Modern Greek grammar, reading and history at a local Greek elementary school.  While at Creighton, she participated in many volunteer activities including Habitat for Humanity, acting as a tour group leader for the Admissions Committee, working at two student-run clinics for homeless persons and helping lead the Med Students for Life chapter.  She loves traveling and cooking, especially Mediterranean cuisine.
