Baystate Simulation Center





The Baystate Simulation Center and Goldberg Surgical Skills Laboratory is one of the first simulation centers in the world to be accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I Comprehensive Education Institute. 

The Center provides orientation and preparation, education, assessment, remediation, certification, research and community outreach opportunities for a variety of learners in multiple specialty areas. 

Students, residents, advanced level practitioners, pre-hospital emergency medical technicians, nurses, fellows, practicing physicians and other healthcare personnel have the opportunity to participate in cognitive and procedural skills training activities of the Center.

Basic and advanced core competency training and assessment, development and maintenance of proficiency in technical and patient care abilities, advancement and improvement of knowledge, skills and behaviors required of healthcare professionals in undergraduate and graduate medical education takes place with individuals, groups, interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary teams, both within the Center and through in-situ simulation where appropriate.
