The Innovation in Research Award recognizes the originality of the research.  

It is awarded to the research project that best challenges existing paradigms or clinical practice as judged by an innovative hypothesis, addresses a critical barrier to progress, or develops or employs novel concepts, approaches or methodologies, tools, or technologies for the field of research.
