Baystate Health Geographics is a for-profit entity that developed from the research of Baystate Medical Center’s Health Geographics Program. Baystate Health Geographics was formed in 2006 to facilitate collaborative research between the Health Geographics Program and commercial partners.
One project of Baystate Health Geographics is the development of an integrated, dynamic mapping extension for a third-party Medical Crisis Information Management System. This enhanced technology provides healthcare disaster managers with access to the right information, in the right format and at the right time, to create an “infosphere of healthcare preparedness” at the national, regional, state, local, and institutional levels. This product is now commercially available.
