Michelle Khoo, MD

Dr. Michelle Khoo received her medical degree from Trinity College, University of Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. She completed her Internal Medicine residency in 2000 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Dr. Khoo continued her training as a Cardiology fellow at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. From 2003 to 2004, she served as Chief Fellow in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.


In 2005 Dr. Khoo joined the Vanderbilt faculty as an assistant professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. She also serves as chair for the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Committee and the Acute Coronary Syndrome Committee for the VA Medical Center in Nashville.

 

Dr. Khoo's work focuses on understandng the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying heart failure and sudden death. On May 18, 2006 Dr. Khoo was awarded the Outstanding Publication Award for Young Electrophysiologists (Experimental Research) by the Heart Rhythym Society for her article Calmodulin Kinase II Activity is Required for Normal Atrioventricular Nodal Conduction.
