Dr. Schreiber is president of the 450 person physician practice plan at Baystate Medical Center. He is also responsible for a wide variety of contracted clinical service relationships with independent medical groups, including those in anesthesia, cardiac surgery, nephrology, orthopedics, radiology and others. He is also on point for Baystate Health’s relationships with independent physicians in general, advancing our vision of mutually beneficial relationships in a hybrid medical staff model. Dr. Schreiber also oversees the academic educational and research enterprises at Baystate Health.
Dr. Schreiber developed his clinical research at Case Western Reserve University where he focused on host defense against encapsulated bacteria. He was also Chief of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital. Dr. Schreiber was then Chair of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota and Physician – In – Chief of the University of Minnesota Children’s Hospital. Prior to arriving at Baystate Dr. Schreiber was Chief Administrative Office of the Floating Hospital for Children at Tufts Medical Center and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine.
Dr. Schreiber received his B.S. at Haverford College and his M.D. and M.P.H. at Tulane University. He completed his Pediatric Residency and his clinical and research Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School, Boston.
