Chuck Gijanto, President of Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, MA, was elected to the Massachusetts Hospital Association (MHA) board of directors at the group’s annual meeting in June.
In this role, Gijanto will help set the course for this voluntary, not-for-profit organization comprised of nearly 120 hospitals and health systems, related organizations, and other members. Through its leadership in public advocacy, education, and information, MHA represents the collective interests of its members, supporting their efforts to provide high quality, cost effective, and accessible care to the people of Massachusetts.
Gijanto began his tenure at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in May, 2008, coming to Greenfield from Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital (CVPH) Medical Center in Plattsburgh, New York, where he had most recently served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He has a strong background in strategic business development and finance – all within the healthcare field – which he will be applying in his work with the MHA board.
“As we move forward into the next fiscal year, MHA is exceptionally fortunate to be moving from strength to strength,” said Association President & CEO Lynn Nicholas, FACHE. “While I am always impressed with the quality of MHA’s board of Trustees, this year’s slate of candidates is truly exceptional.” |
