Who We Are:
Baystate Medical Genetics, a Baystate Children's Hospital Practice, communicates information about inherited conditions within a family. A genetic counselor, trained in medical genetics and psychosocial counseling, assesses risks for genetic conditions based on information provided by the patient. The goal is to provide a complete understanding of the implications of the genetic condition in question. The counselor helps patients make informed decisions, but do not make decisions for their patients. Our board certified specialists, who are also on the faculty of the Baystate Medical Center, Tufts University School of Medicine Western Campus, have access to all the facilities of Baystate Medical Center.
