At Baystate Plastic Surgery, our surgeons serve on the faculty of Baystate Medical Center, the Western Campus of Tufts University School of Medicine. In addition, they are highly skilled and use advanced techniques and procedures.
Our practice is the largest plastic surgery group in Western Massachusetts and perform a wide variety of cosmetic procedures and plastic/reconstructive procedures.
Plastic surgery has become more popular over the years, but that hasn't made the choice of a plastic surgeon any less important. In fact, with more options available today, finding the right doctor has become a challenge. For more information about our experienced plastic surgeons, our services, pre-operation instructions, and general information about plastic surgery, visit Resources links on the right side of this page.
Some procedures require pre-authorization from your insurance company. This can be a lengthy process. If you have supporting documentation to assist your authorization, it needs to be given prior to or at the time of your appointment. From the time that we see you, it can take two or three weeks before your information will reach your insurance company, and it can take another 8 to 12 weeks to hear back from them. If you haven't heard from us or your insurance company after ten weeks, you should contact us to check the status. If your insurance company denies coverage, it is your responsibility to start an appeals process before any required deadline. Check your the denial letter for instructions.
We participate in most insurance programs offered in our area.
If you're concerned or have a question about whether your insurance is accepted, call Patient Billing at 413-794-9999.
If you have any questions about whether your specific health plan covers our services, please call the toll-free number on the back of your insurance member ID card.
If you have commercial insurance coverage, primary or secondary, we will submit a claim to your insurance carrier. You are responsible for all balances due after your insurance company pays its portion, as well as for any co-payments required by your insurance company at the time of the visit.
