Psychiatric Evaluations
About Our Practice:

Baystate Behavior Health — Psychiatry Consultation Service provides psychiatric evaluations for individuals referred from the Medical Center's inpatient units and ambulatory programs.  This results in a report including a diagnostic assessment, concrete recommendations for further work up (when appropriate), and specific suggestions for therapy.

 

Issues commonly referred for psychiatric consultation include:

  -  Diagnosis and treatment of delirium and dementia

  -  Assessment of suicide and homicide risk

  -  Evaluation and treatment of depression

  -  Delineation of functional from organic illness

  -  Assessment of competency

  -  Development of strategies for coping with patients exhibiting dysfunctional behavior.

 

Treatment modalities may involve a combination of psycho pharmacotherapy, psychotherapy, hypnotherapy and stress management.

If you have commercial insurance coverage, primary or secondary, we will submit a claim to your insurance carrier. You are responsible for all balances due after your insurance company pays its portion, as well as for any co-payments required by your insurance company at the time of the visit.
