United Way of Hampshire County honors Baystate Mary Lane Hospital

Accepting the“Spirit of Community Award” presented to Baystate Mary Lane Hospital for their outstanding support of the United Way annual campaign is Stephen Williams, campaign co-chair and Manager of Food and Environmental Services at hospital.

 

 

Baystate Mary Lane Hospital was recognized at the recent United Way of Hampshire County Campaign celebration luncheon for its outstanding involvement in this years campaigned.   

The “Spirit of Community Award” was presented to Baystate Mary Lane Hospital for their outstanding support of the United Way annual campaign as hospital employees raised over $11,000. during this years campaign. 

Despite these difficult economic times, our employees increased their donations by 33% this year,” said Stephen Williams, co-chair of the campaign and Manager of Food and Environmental Services at Baystate Mary Lane Hospital.  Williams was joined by fellow employee and co-chair, Michelle Holmgren in this year’s successful campaign.

Williams was also honored at this special event for 5 years of service as co-chair of the hospital’s United Way Campaign. “The United Way provides vital funding to many non-profit agencies in our local communities,” noted Williams.  “I am committed to this because as a result many in crisis can be cared for; greatly improving the lives of the most vulnerable in the many communities we serve.”

“We commend Stephen Williams for his continued commitment to the United Way and also very pleased with the generosity of our employees and the success of this years United Way Campaign,” said Joan Sullivan, President, Baystate Mary Lane Hospital and Baystate Health Eastern Region.  “Our dedicated team of health care professionals consistently deliver high quality patient care and also demonstrate their support for the community that that they live and work in.”
