Physician’s offer monthly training to area Emergency Medical Technicians

Ware, MA - The Baystate Mary Lane Hospital Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Continuing Education Program has released its schedule of classes to be held for the 2012 year.   According to Mark Tuttle, RN, BSN, MA, Nurse Manager of the Baystate Mary Lane Hospital Emergency Room, “Our 2012 training program provides EMTs in our communities with the EMS continuing education credits necessary to maintain their EMT license. In additional, these classes are offered by Baystate Mary Lane Hospital physicians who look forward to meeting with EMS providers monthly to not only offer education but strengthen the bond of community service that is a the root of emergency medicine in our community.”

Classes are held on the Fourth Wednesday of every month, unless otherwise noted, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the hospital’s Main Conference Room and refreshments are served. The 2012 schedule is as follows:

                        

  • January 25: Advanced Toxicology-Morris Leibowitz, MD, BMLH Emergency Department
  • February 22: Abdominal Trauma-Matthew Brackman, MD – BMP Mary Lane Surgery
  • March 28: Pre-Hospital Treatment of Acute MI-Mark Peterman, MD –Cardiologist Baystate Medical Center
  • April 25: M & M Rounds-Richard Gerstein, MD & Roger Lafleur, MD- BMLH Emergency Department
  • May 23: Medical Terminology/Cases-Jeff Gutterman, MD- BMLH Emergency Department
  • June 27: Respiratory Failure, Causes and Treatment in the Field-Paul Gerstein, MD-BMLH Emergency Dept
  • July 25: M & M Rounds-Richard Gerstein, MD & Roger Lafleur, MD-BMLH Emergency Department
  • August 22: Pediatric Emergencies-Scott Siege, MD-BMP Mary Lane Pediatrics      
  • September 26: M & M Rounds-Richard Gerstein, MD & Roger Lafleur MD-BMLH Emergency Department
  • October 24: Managing Motor Vehicle Trauma-David Miller, MD- BMLH Emergency Department        
  • November 28: Head Injuries and Student Athletes-Richard Romano, MD – BMLH Emergency Department    
  • December 19: M & M Rounds-Richard Gerstein, MD & Roger Lafleur, MD-BMLH Emergency Department
