SPRINGFIELD – With flu activity on the decline, Baystate Health has lifted its flu-based restrictions on visitors to its hospitals and outpatient facilities.
Seasonal flu activity usually peaks in January or February, but it can occur as early as October and as late as May. In January, Baystate implemented visiting restrictions to help limit transmission of the flu and protect patients, guests and staff.
The health system’s three hospitals affected by the change in visitation rules included Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, and Baystate Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, as well as various outpatient facilities.
