The renal program offers services including the evaluation and management of patients with renal disease, the treatment of acute and chronic renal failure, and diagnosis of renal disease. In the treatment of chronic renal failure, the renal program offers modalities of treatment which are individualized to the patients' abilities and needs.
We have an eight-station hospital-based hemodialysis unit for the treatment of acute or chronic hospitalized patients with renal failure. We also have the capability of acute hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis in the Adult Intensive Care Units, Pediatric Intensive Care, and at other selected areas within the facility.
Community ambulatory peritoneal dialysis training is available at two outpatient sites. This technique allows patients to have more responsibility for their own care and allows more freedom in their daily activities.
Other clinical areas of expertise include consultative nephrology, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, continuous venovenous hemodialysis (CVVHD), hypertension diagnosis and management, pediatric nephrology, and treatment of other renal conditions.
Our education programs include a nephrology fellowship.
