A semen analysis is a test performed to determine the quality of an ejaculate. The five common parameters evaluated include: Volume of the semen sample, Viscosity (whether is pours like water or like honey), pH, Motility of the sperm (percent of the sperm that are moving), Concentration (the number of sperm in a given volume of seminal fluid) and Morphology (the shape of the sperm heads and tails). A normal semen specimen has more than 10 million motile sperm and more than 4% normal sperm forms.
