All programs are tailored to the individual learning goals of the student. Baystate Medical Center is accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education.
CPE Summer - Tuition: $800. May 19, 2014 to August 1, 2014
CPE group meets Mondays and Wednesdays for educational sessions from 8:30am - 4:00pm. Clinical hours are 15 per week and will be scheduled for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 8:30am - 5:00pm. Three on-site overnight shifts per month.
Designed primarily for seminarians, qualified lay persons, local clergy, teachers, social workers desiring skills refinement and others who wish to explore more generally their vocation in ministry. The program involves over 400 hours of which at least 100 hours are devoted to educational programs and the practice of ministry. The curriculum integrates the experience of ministry with theology, personal history, behavioral sciences and spiritual development.
CPE Extended - Tuition: $800. October 15, 2014 to April 8, 2015.
Class meets on Wednesdays from 8:30am - 3:00pm. Six hours of clinical time per week are required. Two on-site overnight on-call shifts per month.
Designed as a continuing education experience for selected lay persons and clergy to deepen one's own spirituality, learn new skills in one's ministry and explore a new career in the ministry. Program includes weekly classes, six clinical hours per week of spiritual care, and on-call opportunities. Students in the program will have the opportunity to be part of the interfaith worship rotation. The program involves at least 400 hours, of which, at least 100 are devoted to education programs and the balance to the practice of ministry.
Parking and meals are provided during clinical on-call hours in all programs.
