A clinical neuropsychologist is a licensed psychologist with expertise in how behavior and skills are related to brain structures and systems. In clinical neuropsychology, brain function is evaluated by objectively testing abilities and skills such as intelligence, attention, memory, processing speed, reasoning, reaction time, and problem solving, and placing this in the context of the individual’s history and current presentation. The results provide a pattern of strengths and weaknesses that is used to objectively inform diagnosis, treatment planning, and management.
