The Baystate Medical Center Sports Concussion Clinic treats sports-related concussions. The clinic, a comprehensive program modeled after the pioneering University of Pittsburgh Sports Concussion Program, utilizes a three-prong approach.
The clinic serves to educate, evaluate and manage injuries that affect over 3 million athletes a year by integrating the disciplines of
- Rehabilitation Care (physical therapy and occupational therapy).

The clinic typically first sees patients with sports related concussions through its Neuropsychology Department at 3300 Main Street, 4th floor, Suite A&B, Springfield. Depending on the presenting symptoms, patients may receive additional care at

If a patient does not meet the clinic’s criteria, he or she will be referred to an appropriate Baystate Health sports medicine, neuropsychology, trauma or rehabilitation practice.

The clinic utilizes the ImPACTâ„¢ test employed by all major professional sports leagues, division I colleges, and many high schools, as part of a comprehensive evaluation and management protocol. Dr. Zachary Marowitz, the clinic's neuropsychologist, is a Certified ImPACT Consultant.
The clinic works with the Sports Medicine Program at Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield to provide care to patients if they need resources and services in Springfield.
