Class discusses the patient experience that occurs from the morning you come into Baystate Medical Center, through your surgery, your post-operative care, up until your return home.

How we will partner with you to:
- Manage your pain
- Care for you and your chest tubes, dressings & incision
Practical exercises for:
- Coughing and deep breathing
- Using an Incentive Spirometer
- Re-expanding your lungs after surgery and general anesthesia.

HOW TO ENROLL:
|
When the doctor’s office staff schedules your surgery, they will also schedule you for this important class to provide you the education necessary for an optimal patient experience. The Daly 6-2 nurses look forward to meeting you!!

PARKING AND OTHER DETAILS:
|
When you come in for Pre-Admission Evaluation in Chestnut Building, you will have a complete health assessment done, have your blood drawn, EKG & chest x-ray done, if needed.
You may have a short wait until 10:00am when the class starts. A nurse from Daly 6-2 will escort you from the Chestnut Building to the Daly Building for class.
If you use Valet Parking when you come into the Chestnut Bldg, they can move your car to the Daly Bldg when you are done with class and your car will be waiting for you when you are ready to leave.
