Our radiology services include: state-of-the-art CT Scanning, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Digital Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Diagnostic X-ray, Bone Densitometry and Ultrasound. These services are generally provided in response to a physician's order.
The Radiologists and Technologists are committed to providing the highest level of radiological examinations to meet the needs of patients and physicians.
Many members of our Radiology Department faculty have an academic appointment with Tufts University, School of Medicine. Each is actively involved in teaching within our residency program in diagnostic radiology and our 4th year elective in diagnostic radiology. Our technologists are well trained and teach technology students from Springfield Technical Community College who receive their clinical training in our department. Their training programs create an atmosphere which promotes learning and the critical evaluation of what we do. Many are active in research. There are subspecialists in neurology, mammography, ultrasound, interventional radiology, cardiac imaging, nuclear medicine and more.
Staff provides coverage 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Other sites, including the Baystate Breast & Wellness Center, Ambulatory Care Center and Chestnut Surgical Building, offer additional diagnostic services.
